PerfectTablePlan Newsletter February-06
DON'T KNOW YOUR ESCORT CARDS FROM YOUR TABLE CARDS? ===================================================
We have re-written the table planning hints and tips section of the website. We hope you find it useful: http://www.perfecttableplan.com/html/tips.html
MACINTOSH =========
PerfectTablePlan 2.0.1 is for sale on MacOSX 10.3.9 and later (it will not work on earlier versions such as MacOSX 10.2.8).
If you have a valid version 2 key for Windows you can also use it on Macintosh. You can download the Macintosh version here: http://www.perfecttableplan.com/html/download_for_mac.html
BUGS ====
Please be aware of the following 2 bugs. We intend to fix both of these bugs in the next release. If you are aware of any other bugs, please email us at support@perfecttableplan.com.
Drag and drop doesn't work when plan file location includes a non-ASCII or hash (#) character --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Description: If you save a plan file with a location that includes a hash (#) character or a character that is not part of the standard ASCII set you may not be able to perform drag and drop operations for that plan (e.g. dragging guests to seats). NB/ Pretty much everything on your keyboard is an ASCII character.
Applies to: All versions of PerfectTablePlan up to 2.0.1 for Windows and Macintosh.
Workaround: Don't use hash and non-ASCII characters. For example save: c:\•folder•\plan#1.tp as: c:\folder\plan_1.tp
Comment: Our thanks to Mike B for helping us track this down.
'File'|'Open recent' doesn't prompt for unsaved changes ------------------------------------------------------- Description: When you select 'File'|'Open' you will be prompted to save any unsaved changes to the current plan. This is not the case for 'File'|'Open recent'.
Applies to: All versions of PerfectTablePlan up to 2.0.1 for Windows and Macintosh.
Workaround: Remember to save your changes before selecting 'File'|'Open recent' or use 'File'|'Open' instead.
MULTIPLE USER ACCESS ====================
Currently we don't have file locking in PerfectTablePlan. This means that 2 users with the same plan file open via a shared drive can overwrite each other's changes. We are investigating adding file locking to prevent this occurring.
VERSION 2.1 ===========
We are currently working on PerfectTablePlan v2.1 . As well as the bug fixes and file locking, as mentioned above, we also intend to add a few of the most frequently requested enhancements.
TRAINING MOVIE ==============
If you would like a more in-depth understanding of PerfectTablePlan, but don't have the time or inclination to read the extensive documentation, please watch our 15-minute online movie: http://www.perfecttableplan.com/html/movie__2.html
You will need the 'flash' multi-media plug-in installed in your browser. Most people already have this.
UNSUBSCRIBING =============
We send out a short newsletter email every few months. If you don't want to receive further emails from us please unsubscribe.
